Sonya is one of the main characters of Monster Girl Quest! Paradox RPG. She is Karen's daughter and Luka's childhood friend. She is quite childish, getting excited over adventures but easily frightened although she is capable of being serious when the situation calls for it.
Sonya's true nature is Apoptosis XX00002, the strongest class of Apoptosis known to the residents of Angel World and Monster World.
Recruitment
Sonya will join as soon as you talk to the chief and leave his house. However, you can leave Iliasville without talking to the chief to not recruit her. In doing so you will not obtain the Pocket Castle, which also means you will not be able to recruit any random monsters at all. Sonya will then join near the end of part two, right before the Snow Cave, having been brought there by the White Rabbit.
Biography
Iliasville
Sonya is first met on the way to Luka's baptism. She was tired of waiting for Luka who was running late and went to find him. They proceed to Luka's baptism where she assists the head priest. Ilias appears surprising everyone present. Sonya runs off but quickly returns to tell Luka two little girls are fighting in his inn. After Luka ends the squabble and says his good byes to village elder, he meet Sonya waiting outside the chief's house. She forces her way into the party, not wanting to be left out of an adventure or risk letting Luka get hurt by going off on his own.
Before they can leave the village, Nero shows up and starts talking to Luka. During the conversation, Sonya notices Nero has been staring at her and she asks why. He apologizes and asks for her name but when she introduces herself as Luka's childhood friend, he blurts out Luka doesn't have one. She gets upset causing Nero to apologize and leave.
After that weird conversation, Sonya tells Luka about how there is a Slime Girl in trouble. Luka asks whether or not that is her job to deal with which she shrugs off.
Iliasburg
Sonya and the gang rested in a camp before going to Iliasburg and she remembered the time she got lost with two Slime Girls on a mountain. On Ilias's route, the small goddess warns Luka to be wary of Sonya as she doesn't remember the priestess which means the latter should not exist.
In Iliasburg, Sonya meets the White Rabbit and if Luka battles her, Sonya steps forward to assist, as the White Rabbit is too strange and possibly a dangerous monster.
After hearing rumors of Amira disappearing she helps defeat the 4 Heavenly Bandits, and her expectations were blown away when she finds out the bandits are actually kids. She feels bad for stopping them and later apologized with them to the town folks. Before leaving for the Nameless Slums, if Luka decides to bring Papi with her Sonya is impressed with her work in the Blacksmith.
Should Luka decides to help Vanilla to develop her shop, Luka will excitedly help her and go to Talus Hill to catch a big beetle, which Sonya finds childish.
Nameless Slums
Sonya gets psyched later on investigating the business with Phoenix Feathers and Don Dahlia at Nameless Slums, calling herself a Femme Fatale. She and the gang uncovers the secret of Don Dahlia's business. She and the party fights the young Phoenix Girl from who the Don gets her Pheonix Feathers from her tail, and later recruit her as Don Dahlia only kept her for her business while lying to her.
Mithra Sealed Castle
When they arrive at the ruined castle south of the slums, Alice/Ilias calls this the Mitra Sealed Castle. Sonya is amazed on the structure of the building. Alice/Ilias explained the history behind this castle and the weapons used in the Great Monster Wars. Sonya questions if Ilias indeed created the Dark Goddess, but Ilias doesn't want to hear any more of it. As the party examines the pedestals, Sonya express each time a stronger and stronger disappointment as there isn't a single legendary weapon to be found. When the party finds a cypress rod, she asks if it doesn't happen to be one of the legendary weapons.
Pornof
Arriving at Pornof, when asking a guide she calls him out for being a pervert, but was asked not to call them that. If Luka agrees to a man for Sonya to take her panties off he will get 200G, and even if Sonya retorts about this, she just agrees anyway. She repeatedly express her hatred for the town, even wishing for it to be destroyed by a meteor. Entering the inn, they confront a Rabbit Girl who's not the White Rabbit the party was looking for. The monster tell them that another rabbit was hanging around Southern Tartarus. She later meets Scat Captain and forces him to drink his tea, and if Kamuro was recruited she tells her to get away from him.
Tartarus (Southern Ilias Continent)
After arriving at the investigation site she and the party spot the White Rabbit giving them a wild goose chase and jumping down the Tartarus Rift. When they go down, they see a strange dungeon-like place that is crawling with Apoptosis, which creeps her out. Then, they proceed to enter Remina and encounters a strange, aggressive creature. After beating her, the party realizes she wants to join them, and Sonya names her Nuruko. Even though the creature can only speak using "kyu", Sonya apparently somehow manages to understand her.
Iliasville/First Tartarus
After catching up to the White Rabbit, the group stumbles upon an Iliasville that was destroyed by Angels. Luka and her find their own graves, which doesn't make sense. Ilias explains that this place is from another dimension and another time. Luka says that he never saw Granberia and went home afterward. They go back to their world for a discussion in the Pocket Castle, taking a moment to better understand what they just saw and what to do next.
Harpy Village
After Luka and the gang finish discussing their plan, the group goes to the Harpy Village to find out more about the Harpy's disappearances. There they met Nero again in the Harpy Queen's House who tells them about the reason why they vanished like that. Nero reveals that an Ancient Virus has infected the entire Harpy Race and the only cure to that are the fruits of the World Tree. Sonya ask why they didn't inform the villagers about this. Nero states that they didn't want to cause a panic amongst the villagers, and left of their own free will. Upon leaving the Harpy Village the group goes to the tower north, where the monsters quarantined themselves.
Midas Village
Entering Midas Village, infested with Slug Girls a shop owner explains the situation concerning the rapid breeding session of the Sluggy Stars in Slug Tower, she Teeny and Luka agreed to help Flora, a woman who was famous back in her day that she already battled the previous Slug Boss.
Slug Tower
Sonya is relieved that the problem is over once Luka defeats the Sluggy Stars. After getting the gold equipment needed she and the others set off to the Easterm Iliasville Tartarus to see what challenges are ahead.
Rostrum Mountain Caves
Sonya and the others arrive in the Rostrum Mountain Caves wondering what to expect, as the priestess knows that Rostrum was destroyed 10 years ago after the Great Disaster. When Alice and Ilias meet once again, she asks them to not fight.
Rostrum Village
After getting through the caves of Rostrum, she and the party finds the Rostrum in ruins, and Sonya feels sad for what happened to the village. They later find an inn to sleep, and continue their adventure to the Tartarus South of Rostrum. Sonya gets agitated again similar to what happened when they first entered the First Tartarus.
Tartarus (Eastern Ilias Continent)
Luka and the others find nobody around the place. Neither an investigation team nor the White Rabbit waiting for them. Sonya wonders how a forest is integrated within Tartarus. Ilias/Alice explains this is an effect of Space-Time distortion. She and the others meet a woman in another fragment of Remina, and Ilias knows it's Promestein, only different from the one she knows since she's from another time. Sonya acts strangely again when she sees the Chaos Passage again and the portal like the first one.
Rostrum Village/Second Tartarus
Arriving at Rostrum, the team realizes that they've been sent in the past, at the time of Marcellus's adventure with his party. Sonya is surprised to learn that Karen dressed like a slut. When Luka receives a letter from the village's chief telling him to go to Enrika, she asks Luka if he knows Micaela, and is as surprised to learn that his father also visited this place recently.
Enrika
Sonya and the others arrive at Enrika and heads in to meet with an Elf at Micaela's house. Sonya is excited to go to Sentora Continent but she realize they need a boat from Iliasport to travel.
Iliasport
Arriving at Iliasport, Sonya and the others look for a ship to Port Natalia, but the captain says that he can't sail for them because of the storm. Ilias "knows" this is the work of Alma Elma, One of the Four Heavenly Knights and the Queen Succubus when they meet Nero again. Nero knows of a way to get through the storm, and suggests getting the Poseidon's Bell from the Cave of Treasures. The heroine gets annoyed again on why he is just randomly helping Luka and the others for no apparent reason. Sonya thanks Nero for the seeds of Yggdrasil, but Nero says he's just doing his job and leaves. Sonya and the others heads off for the Cave of Treasures.
Cave of Treasures
Luka and the others arrives at the Cave of Treasures where Selene's treasure and the Poseidon's bell should be. After venturing through to the tunnel and towards the treasure they are stopped by Nanabi and Luka's party gets utterly wrecked, only saved by Neris. After that, the White Rabbit reveals herself to be responsible for the kitsune's presence with a projection of Tamamo. Neris then asks Luka on a date, which shocks and creeps Sonya, who asks Luka if he knows who she is. They gladly take the treasure and leave.
Port Natalia
After their ship gets destroyed, Sonya is found unconscious on the bed, watched over by Nuruko. When the mermaids ask for their help, Sonya gladly oblige, at least to repay the mermaid's kindness.
Natalia Coast
Sonya and the others have reached Natalia Coast where the location of the Southern Undersea Temple is, and take a liking to the treasure filled beach.
Southern Undersea Temple
Sonya is amazed on the structures of the Southern Undersea Temple. When they find the imprisoned mermaids, she tries having Lime free them, but realizes the mermaids can't get out. When she sees Meia surrounded by young boys, she's utterly creeped out and gladly beats the insanity out of the mermaid.
San Ilia
Sonya and the others reached San Ilia, Sonya wants to meet the pope and is completely dumbfounded when Luka tells her he forgot that she is also a priestess. As they meet the Pope, Sonya shows herself to be extremely formal by respect for his rank and is determined to help him even as he offer his gracious help to the party. When the party finds out the book left by Marcellus guarded by Page 65537 with a word inside, she wonders exactly what this whole deal really is about.
Mt. Saint Amos
She's shocked to see the dying Micaela, and asks Luka how does he know her. She tries healing Micaela, but her skills prove insufficient to keep the seraph alive. She then shares Luka's mourning over his aunt, even if they didn't really know her.
Luddite Village
Arriving at Luddite Village Sonya didn't like some of the villagers communication to outsiders like them and want to report the activities to the San Ilia Pope. The party meets a priest and asked to be escorted to the Ancient Temple Ruins. Sonya asked questions about the Temple but the priest will just show the answer instead. Luka and the others meet up with the Pope outside the Ancient Temple Ruins. The pope still has spite on Sonya's Uncle Lazarus for trying to assassinate him.
Ancient Temple Ruins
The party has been stunned on the structures of the Ancient Temple Ruins and its modern-like appearance. As they start to move in deeper, Sonya questions the Pope whether he will really pray at the "temple", but he says it's actually a ruse so that no outsider can really know what happen inside. She's extremely surprised when the pope transforms into a robot and prepares to join them in their fight against the freshly awakened Brynhildr. After the fight, Brynhildr joins the group as Sonya is taking pity on her, and Promesein wants to experiment on her but Sonya takes her tools away. Later they return to San Ilia to collect the Makinas and hear the report of strange activities regarding the rumored Haunted Manor.
Haunted Mansion
Hearing the rumors and the report of a soldier in San Ilia, the party investigates the Manor, with the chosen heroine being terrified. While Sonya acts courageous at first, she also periodically devolves into the same afraid state the main companion is in, particularly when the group enters the dining room and accidentally triggers the undead monsters there that were holding a party there. When reading the "ingenious code", she says that it's the same thing that she was doing when she was ten years old.
Even as Chrome looks a bit pathetic to her, she doesn't hold back when the party finally reaches the small necromancer and her bodyguard.
Forest of Spirits
Arriving at the Forest of Spirits, Luka finds Sylph and was asked of what his business with the WInd Spirit's power, Sonya helps Luka defeat Sylph to make a contract.
Monte Carlo
When the party looks for information about the White Rabbit, they ask questions about an informant who tells them about the fact that Elka respects a man named Lazarus. After digging deeper, Sonya realizes it's indeed her uncle, who gives the group a letter of recommendation to introduce them in the company. Sonya tries to push her parent to tell more, but Lazarus denies being really involved, saying that he "only played a few card games" with the man, even as their discussion with Elka tells otherwise.
On their way out, they see a young man being attacked by a succubus, who then gets rescued by a strange woman presenting herself as an hero of justice. When the latter tells them she can't chase the succubus because her clothes make her overheat, Sonya suggest to take them off, which is ignored. After the party proceeds to beat Eva, the succubus forces her way into the party to her chagrin.
Rubiana
Sonya is worried about the missing villagers and how they disappear as the party talks to one of the investigators says that there is a letter written by one of the residents of Rubiana. Sonya and the others are confused about this phenomenon, as it seems quite different from the one in Harpy Village. With no answers Sonya and the others wants to keep this in mind if they have time to re-visit Rubiana.
Sabasa
When the party enters the city, Sara is dumbfounded by the guards who act like common thugs as they try to extort money from the party. When a local tell them that it's been like that since Sara took the lead of the city after her father disappeared, she decides that investigating the strange behavior of the princess is a priority.
When the party arrives at the Oasis of Blessings, Sonya is surprised to discover that Salaan is a woman, but the party moves on fast. When they later learn from Sphinx that they can not change Sara back after her succubus blood awakened, Sonya questions the new plan of accelerating Sara's transformation to give her the maturity required to control herself by giving her the yoma's blood.
When they reach Sara to make her drink her ancestor's blood, Sonya is shocked by Sara's lewd proposition and is uncomfortable fighting her, as she doesn't want to hurt a fellow who's not in control of her own actions. When the party arrives at the Luddite Village which got mostly destroyed by the Lilith Sisters, Sonya is horrified by the slaughter in front of her. After Luka barely pushes back Astaroth, Sonya wonders if the hero didn't already meet the succubus as the latter says she will watch him closely from now on.
Magistea Village
Once the party got the gist of the nature of the conflict between Lily and Lucia, Sonya realizes that there's no good answer about whether the used of tentacle magic should be spread. Whichever side Luka choose, she will be worried about the future, as the party as either allowed the spread of the use of the tentacle magic, allowing the oppressed to stand up but risking to create new bloodbaths, or prevented it, removing one of the tool that could have helped some people in need.
Once the conflict is solved, the priestess suggests going to Saloon to get some crystal gear to explore the Safaru Ruins safely.
Saloon
Once the party arrives, they get informed that the daughter of the manage of the accessory shop has disappeared in Saloon Hill. Sonya tells that they have to suspend everything until they have saved her. Once it's done, and as the party meets the locals, Sonya is surprised to learn that the friendly village is filled with assassins sworn to protect the bloodine of Sabasa.
Should Luka recruit Miranda, the boss of the Scale Bandits residing into the Saloon's Abandoned Mine, she will question Luka's judgement when it comes to recruiting dangerous monsters.
Tartarus (Northern Sabasa)
Should Sara accompany the team, Sonya will attempt to comfort her. As they notice the pile of soil blocking the way to the Tartarus, Sonya is shocked when it moves to block their way. She's not that surprised to see the White Rabbit appear in front of them, and when the latter mocks Nero by pretending he became helpless when she stole his glasses, Sonya is surprised to learn that the chuuni reacted like that before the White Rabbit tells them she was joking.
When the team descends in Tartarus and notices the alarming amount of spacetime corrosion around, Sonya attempts to touch said neither but stops herself just in time when she learns that it would disintegrate her. As usual, Sonya is uncomfortable with the experience of crossing through the dimensions and want to turn back. She finds herself legitimately terrified when they notice that most of the world on the other side has been destroyed, and is dying in throes just as they arrive. They rush toward the Administrator's Tower, the only civilized place apparently still standing.
Just like Luka and his main companion, Sonya is surprised by the lack of signs of life in the tower until Radio rolls in. With nothing else to do, they hesitatingly follow her, and as they learn the world is falling apart to chaos once and for all, Sonya starts to panic.
As they see the rooms where people lived before dying, Sonya and everyone else take in the full consequences of what will happen to their world if they don't act.
Eventually, the party meets La Croix who tells them the gist of what chaosization leads and what caused it. When the party leaves, Sonya is sadenned that La Croix doesn't come with them.
When they escape and gets intercepted by Adramelech, Sonya is shocked to see the still standing apoptosis. When it's clear the monster is weakened, she doesn't hesitate to stand for the sake of La Croix's message. After beating her by the skin of their teeth and running away, Sonya's shocked to see the apoptosis crawl from nowhere to stop Luka. She's as surprised as anyone when Luka's father step in to save them, but don't hesitate to run afterwards.
When the party is finally safe, she wonders what he was doing there. As they discuss afterward, she's as determined as the remainder of the party to bring through La Croix's message and save the world.
Port Marle
As the group crosses the Marle Grand Corridor, Sonya once again step in to separate Alice and Ilias as the two throw insults at each other. Still, as the party learned that boats are currently kept at dock unless authorized specifically by the Navy, she wonders what their next step will be.
They discuss this issue once again when they arrive in town, ans manage to convince the viceroy to lead them to the admiral. When the party meets Leviathan at the Navy Headquarters, Sonya try to ask if she can't do an exception for them. She tells them that she has a fitting task for them: Taking care of the Fishy Pirates, whose leader might be related to queen Roza. Sonya and Luka's main companion are unenthusiastic at first, and the priestess even grows slightly suspicious when she sees pirate-related material in Leviathan's office, even as the latter deny her relation to piracy.
When a dog girl outside invite them to follow her, they do so. Just like everybody else, Sonya is suspicious of the mermaid's pirate, and when they're broguth aboard the MS Fish, she thinks they're taken as hostages, until Ashel, the captain's second, tells them that they're just invited. When the pirate tells them their plan to grab one of Queen Roza's past treasures and to cripple the navy after telling that they only hunt pirates and don't harm innocents, Sonya is confused as to whom to help.
If Luka joins the pirates, she expresses her reluctance in front of the idea of becoming an outlaw, while she'll be more upbeat if he decided to do some pirate hunting. In any case, she'll follow him, and is grateful that Leviathan fulfill their part of the deal by leaving them the MS Fish to navigate.
Grand Noah
When the team arrives in Finoa, Sonya is slightly concerned by the tense ambiance, as Grand Noah is at war with Grangold. Still, they gather supplies and information about the situation, hearing about the queen's advisor.
When the team camps midway on the road to the city, Sonya starts expressing her concern over being inadequate, as she's a mere human while Luka is surrounded by monsters/angels while being himself the descendant of one. Luka and the main companion reassures her, but she still feels concerned about her future.
As they arrive in the city, Sonya realize that they may have to use their connection to get inside (namely, Sara). As they discuss the possibility to investigate Esta, Mephisto intervenes and says that Luka should prove himself by participating into the Queen's Cup, surprising Sonya with her rudeness. Still, Luka (or the heroine) accepts.
When the main heroine meets her counterpart in front of the desk, Sonya asks them to keep their energy for the arena as they once again threaten to fight each other. After a fade to black, she remarks that the first few fights were nothing serious. As they get closer to the final, Mephisto intervenes and tells them her plan to lure someone who appeared then according to the true history. Sonya grows even more suspicious in front of the yoma's obvious manipulation. Once the situation is dealt with, when the Grand Noah Queen requests their help to investigate Mephisto's academy, Sonya is unhappy that their goal keep being pushed forward, but the party accept as they also have made the objects of her manipulation. She remains awkwardly silent as the party gets asked for help from Caesar and Arthur, the captains of the two first companies of the queen.
Minotauros's Labyrinth
As they investigate the disappearance of minotaurs, Sonya is incredibly suspicious about the invitations to a sukiyaki party, thinking it's an obvious trap. As such, when she arrives, she's all the more shocked to see there's an actual sukiyaki party going on. As the party explores the place, they encounter Sun Wukong who let slip that she's serving Black Alice, shocking everyone. Then, they meet the Cow Demon Queen, and when Sun Wukong arrives after the party has beaten her, the monkey lord instantly bails out, making the priestess come to the realization that she only came here to eat sukiyaki.
As the party prepares to leave, the priestess notices that the Demon Cow Queen is looking at them from afar.
Yamatai Village
When the party crosses the Yamatai Cave, Sonya ends up as exhausted as the remainder of the party. Near the exit, she mixes a Futakuchi Girl with a normal human. As they enter the village, Sonya is amused by the different clothing worn by people and the style of the building. As they hear about the health issues of the chieftain, Sonya worries about him. Just like the main heroine, she doesn't hesitate to step in to offer the party's help.
When the party meets once again the group led by the heroine's counterpart, Sonya offer food to both of them to stop them from insulting each other. At the cat shrine, Sonya wonders what's going on with all the nekomatas, and after failing to identify the real cat goddess amongst the stray ones, wonder if the solution of the shrine maiden to design a random one as the cat goddess is really okay.
At the tanuki shrine, when she hears the story from the crying kitsune present, she reassures her that they will find her friend in Orochi's Cave, even as the heroine is worried by the presence of the powerful Yamata No Orochi. When they finally find her, Sonya has to defend the poor tanuki girl against the main heroine's bullying. When they return her to the shrine, Sonya tells her to be more careful next time.
Magical Academy
When they enter the Magic academy, Sonya is shocked to see the young students reveal themselves as monsters. When the party finally arrives in front of Mephisto's office, they're shocked to see her with Lilith. Fortunately, when the succubus cuts their retreat, Alma Elma engages her into a fight and forces Mephisto to fight the party alone. After beating her, Sonya and the heroine tell the yoma she'll have to confess everything to the queen.
Sonya is dumbfounded when the latter asks Mephisto to resume her position, and is particularly aggravated when the yoma exploit this opportunity to ask her for help to deal with Plansect Village when they think up of a plan to deal with Grangold.
Plansect Village
Sonya is dumbfounded by the monsters who attack them as soon as they step in. After Alra Priestess tells them that the war that had been stopped by the Seventeenth has been reignited by a petty fight between Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl (who respectively rallied the plant and the insect races), Sonya is as depressed as the main heroine to see that the fight has restarted for a reason so petty.
If Luka pushes for peace, she will be supportive of his effort to resolve the conflict. However, when the party comes back at Plansect and Tezcatlipoca jumps in to attack the party, Sonya is wary of the apparently strong monster who wrecked the Canaan Sisters in a heartbeat. She ends up relieved when the party still manages to beat her.
After the party deals with Quetzalcoatl in Red Mountain, Sonya is as worried as everyone by the return of Tezcatlipoca, but, just like the remainder of the people present, fall into an awkward silence as both groups face each other again.
Undine's Spring
When they arrive, Sonya asks where the cavern actually is before the heroine explains her that it's magically hidden. She notices the slimes around the party, but remains calm. When Erubetie steps in, Sonya is scared by the fact that they have to fight yet anothet Heavenly Knight.
When the latter falls back after a half-hearted fight, Sonya wonders if she'll be doing fine as she looked troubled. She's reassured by the heroine, who tells them that they'll have to go see the Grand Noah Queen to get a move on Grangold anyways.
Grangold
When the Queen of Grand Noah speaks about her plan to send the heroes to inflitrate the Grangold's castle, she's shocked that they'll apparently be sent alone before learning that they are to meet with some contacts as they progress.
When the party infiltrates Gold Fort with Alma Elma's support, the team is aghast to find a dead body as the succubus queen told that she would hold back. However, Sonya remarks that the man has been killed several days ago. After the party leaves the fort while Alma Elma holds back the Lilith Sisters, the group makes its way to Goddard to meet a spy. Just like everybody else, Sonya can feel the impure aura that permeates the region. When they enter the pub to meet their contact, Sonya wonders what the spy will look like before being reminded by the heroine that he will likely look as bland as possible to better mix in, all that to be met with Nero.
After being informed of the situation and told to meet a magic expert there, the party goes to the East Gold Toxic Swamp and meets with Mephisto who's here to help them go through the March Hills. Sonya is suspicious of the yoma, as the latter proved she was in cahoot with the Monster Lord and could very well betray them again. Mephisto retorts that she's unlikely to betray the team again, and that Luka should be more suspicious of people that were always close to him like childhood friend, attracting herself Sonya's ire. Fortunately, the priestess' fear find themselves unfounded as Mephisto effectively dispatch a large group of powerful golems guarding March Hills.
When the party camps with the city of Grangold itself in sight, Sonya talks to Luka about her insecurities of being the lone weak human amongst those monsters. Luka reassures her, but the priestess is still worried about her place in the party.
As the party finally arrives in Grangold with the plan to meet another contact in the bar, Sonya lampshades that they seem to often go there to meet their contacts, and Mephisto acknowledges that the brewery guilds have ties with the underworld. Sonya is utterly shocked to see that the spies in question are Lazarus and Merlin, her adoptive father and uncle, as well as the dons of the mafia. She's furious at the men who has hidden so much from her even as they tell that their plan to get the team inside the castle involve bombing empty parts of the city as a diversion. Even if she's still willing to help the party, she makes it clear that she'll want to hear the full truth from them.
When the party gets intercepted by the King of Grangold in the sewer, Lazarus and Merlin decides to stand behind to hold him back while the party continues onward without them.Sonya tells them that they better not die. A bit later, the party finally reaches Lilith, the real source of the brainwashing aura reveals herself. Tamamo No Mae shows up and overwhelm the party with her power. Fortunately Tamamo steps in and tells that she saved Lazarus and Merlin on her way in to Sonya's relief. After fighting back Lilith, the succubus leaves while Tamamo No Mae gets engaged in a fight by Nero and Neris. Even as the palace collapse, everyone escapes the ensuing chaos.
During the feast, Sonya is dumbfounded by the sumptuous amount of food presented as "a limited offering". It's clear that she still holds a grudge against Merlin and Lazarus for hiding their shady dealings for so long. She's also unhappy with all the interlopers from different worlds stepping in with their insane power, and expresses her desire to train more to be able to stand up to them. She's as shocked as anyone when Alice XV spawns from nowhere to declare ehr war against the world.
Gold Continent
When the party checks Gold Port's tavern, Sonya is furious to see Lazarus and Merlin again and suspects them to do more illegal activities even as the don of the mafia tells her he just came here to lay low and are enjoying games. When Luka invites them to the Pocket Castle and Lazarus and Merlin are enthusiastic at the idea to operate there, Sonya not-so-unjustfully suspect that they will try to trick them again, which the men deny.
During the escapade on the Ghost Ship, she's jaded at the heroine's terrified reaction, and desn't seem to mind much the eerie ambiance of the ship. When the party returns to Selene's house after having cleared the Beelzebubs, she's has surprised as the remainder of the party to see that she's still here, and when Selene tells the group that it's likely the beelzebubs are still around, Sonya agrees that taking care of them is still their top priorities. She's as jaded as everyone when it's revealed that the Beelzebubs were broken by the culture shock and force their way in the party.
She barely comments on the events happening in Succubus Village and Lady's Village, only not-so-subtly implying that Candy's glutonnous tendencies can be compared to the heroine's.
During the magical girl tournament, Sonya is aghast to learn that the goal is to create a new magical girl by forcing the power of grudges upon her. As the party gets involved, she questions the heroine's plan to make Luka the receptacle, and feels that she's the only reasonable one when they face Succubus Witch. She's as surprised as everyone when Granberia intervenes and is the one who gets the power instead.
She then remains mostly silent once more until the party reaches the Tartarus (Western Gold), where she's surprised to a large fire blocking the passage. When the White Rabbit appears and reveals that she's the culprit for this anomaly, Sonya is at the stranger monster, but the latter ignores her and says that it was to act as a guarantee that Luka would get Salamander. When the party descends into the Tartarus Pit, she's slightly reassured by the absence of space-time holes, even if the place is clearly distorted as desert, forest, corroded areas and more typical Tartarus environment are mixed together. As usual, she expresses a certain discomfort before the party teleports to the world on the other end.
When the party reaches Succubus Village, she identifies the buildings as old-fashionned, and learns with the rest of the party that they're in 965, the age of the reign of Black Alice. As Luka looks like the hero Heinrich, he can says that he's indeed the hero, which earns him a scolding from Sonya. When the heroine realizes that a disguised Black Alice is accompanying the hero Heinrich, they warn the party, and Sonya is just as shocked and aghast at the idea that the hero is accompanied by the Monster Lord he's bound to slay. When Mephisto gets a communication from Grand Noah, Sonya tells that she's surprised she manages to get anything from another world. She's even more shocked when she learns that Alice XV is attacking Grand Noah back home, and the killing blow is given on the Alice route when she realizes that Black Alice somehow got teleported with them and is willing to give a hand to the party.
Monster Lord's Assault and Counterattack
She doesn't talk much as the party defends the cities against the attacks from the Monster Lord's armies, only wondering if it was okay for the Grangold King to reveal himself as he fought spiders, and telling that she feels like a bad guy for attacking the young-looking El as the latter was laying siege to San Ilia.
First, in Fairy's Island, she's as worried as everyone when the party notices that the Queen Elf's unusual aggressiveness comes from a lingering brainwashing spell. She's then surprised by the heroine's harshness toward Queen Elf as the latter paints herself as a victim when she didn't even attempt to communicate, but makes no comment otherwise.
When the party gets to the World Tree to take care of the source of the brainwashing spell, Sonya reminds them that they can use this opportunity to grab a fruit to heal Queen Harpy. If the party takes care of the Queen Alraune's succession problem, Sonya will be depressed by the fact that it looks like that these monsters are forcing their successors into their posts.
During their excursion in Lyra Falls, the party meets El again. Sonya takes pity on the monster, as it's clear to her that she's a victim of her mother's education. However, the main heroine doesn't hesitate and points out more bluntly the fact to the mermaid princess, pointing out that as the next ruler in line, she will have to understand the weight of responsibilities and orders.
As the party meet Spider Princess in The Secluded Lands, Sonya is aghast when the monster says that she will be romantically interested in Luka if the hero beats her. She's even more furious when the monster queen shows that she intends to follow through her promise of marrying Luka. When Luka ends up completing her request, and whatever solution he choses, Sonya is reduced to growling her disapproval in pure, unaltered rage as Spider Princess joins the gang with the clear intent to make Luka hers.
When the party attacks the Vampire Castle and the heroine explains that the Queen Vampire is an extremely classical arrogant feudal lord who's prone to crush those she consider her enemies, Sonya says that she isn't surprised. When the Queen Vampire surrenders and forces her aides in the party, Sonya is reluctant to accept, and the priestess eventually becomes completely jaded when the monster reveals that she plans to take over the world... With a sustainable business program which Sonya notices is just a knockoff of the existing mermaid pub chain.
During the second strategy meeting, when all the queens have been beaten, and as everyone discusses plans to replace the blue orb that has been broken (courtesy of Astaroth), Sonya is shocked when people come to the conclusion that the best plan is to get the orb in the past when its location was known, namely the Monster Lord's Castle during Black Alice's reign. Still, she won't further highlight how dangerous this plan actually is, and the party follows suit.
When the party sees Princess Edina in the royal castle of Remina, Sonya is just as shocked as anyone else when it's apparent that he's a descendant of the royal bloodline. She lampshades the fact that as he's the descendant of a hero as well, and as such might have the single highest human pedigree on this world. Like the remainder of the party, she reminds Luka that they sould definitively do their utmost to avoid Black Alice.
Issues start popping up when the party has to get the Red Orb from the Elf Princess. The party first contacts the Queen Elf to get in touch with the princess, and it's revealed that the latter is currently a shut-in waiting for a charming prince and has incredibly high standards. Sonya points out that, fortunately, Luka perfectly matches her criteria. When the party arrives in the Snake Shrine for a first date, Sonya points out that she has a "very bad feeling about this"... And indeed, once inside, the Elf Princess remains hidden, communicating through one of her aides and offering Luka an orb as well as numerous lavish gifts. Sonya realizes the dangerous weight of the princess's affection, and tells Luka that they should take things more slowly. As the princess makes it clear that she intends to directly marry Luka, Sonya steps in front of the princess, sharing a piece of her mind in Luka's name. A bit later, Sonya is seen half-unconscious, and it is revealed that she fought the princess's aides and somehow managed to hold her own quite well before being overwhelmed.
When the party attempts the ritual to summon the Garuda Girl in the Holy Wings Shrine and Nero appears after the party's failure, she's shocked by the man's plan to blow up the continent to restore the mana flow. When he tells the party that exploring the Snow Continent to discover the source of the anomaly, she notifies him that they did theoretically already explore the Monster Lord's Castle, even if it was in the past. Still, she's jaded after the man disappears once again only after dropping ominous hints once more.
Snow Continent
Just as the remainder of the team, she's dumbfounded when the party enters Snow Cave and sees angels in the way. She wonders if it's because there is a hidden village like Enrika, but when she reaches Snow Heaven and realize that the Snow Continent is what remains of Heaven after the Great Disaster, she's completely shocked.
When the party reaches the deepest point in the Snow Shrine and meets Eden, the very first thing Sonya says her is to put on some clothes. On Alice's route, she notices that the seraph gets incredibly angry when Luka asks her to open the barrier to open access to the ruins of Ilias Temple before they beat her. On the Ilias route, as Eden obeys Ilias slavishly, she notifies that the seraph has been well trained.
On Ilias Route, when Ilias and Eden attempts to revive Micaela and Lucifina in the Hall of Creation to end up bringing two squishy versions of the seraph, Sonya is shocked to see their younger versions. However, when Lucifina-chan decides to become Luka's mother, she approves the heartwarming moment.
During the ultimate camp scene, she once again expresses her feeling of inadequacies as Luka is surrounded by powerful and beautiful monsters. She then tells that she has a horrible feeling about what will happen in the dungeon they will explore the next day.
Ilias Temple Ruins
Once the group is done receiving exposition from Ilias, the latter gets assassinated by the Lilith Sisters. The succubi are then engaged by the three seraphim into a fight, and Sonya (uselessly) ask them to stop, before transforming into an XX class apoptosis.
On Alice's route, Gnosis tries to attack her, but gets her energy stolen leading to the apoptosis transforming into Sonya Mazda. Luka then beats her once, but she proceeds to call for Adramelech. Morrigan then tries to stop the summoning, but fails and loses a part of her energy too, leading to Sonya completing her transformation into Sonya Chaos. After getting beaten once more, she is then incapacitated by Nuruko, and Morrigan joins Luka's group under her sister's request to keep an eye on her. The succubus considers killing her, but Luka refuses to do so as he's protective of his friends.
On Ilias's route, Morrigan tries to attack her, but gets her energy stolen leading to the apoptosis transformating into Sonya Mainyu. Luka then beats her once, but she proceeds to call for Adramelech. Gnosis then tries to stop the summoning, but fails and lose a part of her energy too, leading to Sonya completing her transformation into Sonya Chaos. After she is defeated by Luka's party, she briefly regains control of herself once more and attacks Adramelech in order to protect Luka. However, she has been severely weakened in her fight against the party, and although Adramelech manages to fatally wound her, Sonya Chaos still is victorious. With the last of her power she then rewinds time to just before her transformation and leaves a copy of herself with Luka so he doesn't miss her once Sonya Chaos succumbs to her wounds and dies. When the group leaves, Luka has a flash of her in her Chaos form, and shows awareness of the truth. He gets another flash from her when he deals with the group hidden in Devastated Plains.
"The Land of Night and the Heroes of the Seven Worlds"
When the White Rabbit spawns in the Pocket Castle, Sonya herself and the heroine are furious as the monster had shown to be a nuisance in the past. However, Luka decides to listen to her anyway, as the situation seems serious. The White Rabbit explains them that as she attempted to guide Alice, she ended in a wrong world and got attacked by a mysterious succubus who calls herself the "Queen of Dream" with the plan to bring in the "Land of Night" in this world. Luka understands that the situation is an emergency to be dealt with, although he still holds it against the White Rabbit.
Sonya reappears at the end of the chapter 4, when Luka's party investigates Izumo's village after it has been attacked by Mysteltainn, Ogretooth and Executioner. She's shocked by the destruction and deaths spread around. Before they can push their investigation, they receive a message from Mephisto that Finoa is also under attack from another powerful trio of succubi. The party decides to head there as fast as possible.
The same situation happens in chapter 7 as they arrive in Finoa after Myusca, Nemea and Vinum had their way with the village, killing more than a hundred inhabitants. Mephisto then informs them of the apparition of the Château des Romances in place of the Grand Noah palace.
She reappears with Luka and his allies in chapter 10, and attacks Nemea with Nuruko's support.
She doesn't show up much afterward, only playing a minor role in the Succubus Prison trio recruitment sidequest. As the heroes are paired with their respective partners to complete Myusca's infamous "Sex Rooms" challenges, Luka and the heroine are forced to do it at the sixth room after Rovissa gets cold feet. However, Sonya steps in and asks why, as the childhood friend, she isn't the one who gets to do it with Luka. Insults soon start flying, and a number of Luka's companions step in. They decide to solve their different in a Battle Royale, which is won fruitlessly be the heroine as their conflicts blew both doors open.
Time Loop Event
When she doesn't get selected by the heroine to be part of the band, she decides to form her own band with the imp trio. Her participation in the Girl Band's fight during the Yamatai Night Festival ends up being a humiliating disaster. She's one of the datable option in the festival, but Luka doesn't react to a single one of the flag afterward, unintentionally ruining the date by acting dense to her disappointment.
Part 3 Demo
During the strategy meeting right after the party resumes their adventure, Sonya states that her head feels like a mess as a consequence of the recent events. On Alice's Route, everyone suspiciously eyes her but keep her true nature under wrap.
After beating down the Garuda Girl, Sonya suggests naming her Kweko, but her allies ignore her and stick to the name of Galda.
After saving Queen Roach in the Forgotten Tower on Alice Route, she gets teased about her relation to Luka as she tries to keep Queen Roach away from him while denying that she's more than just a childhood friend.
She remains mostly silent during the conflict between the kitsunes and the tanukis, only remarking that the letter the kitsune clan received and being shocked that Inugami decides to get drunk in time of crisis. She's jaded at the idea of recruiting another drunkard when the party gets her, but doesn't reject her either.
In the Elf Village, she gets aggravated when the party encounters Neris who treats her like a stranger. She gets extremely jaded when dealing with the Elf Princess shut-in nature, and when she joins them, she once again get angry when she get reminded of her position as the stereotypical unlucky childhood friend.
Hellgondo
When the party reaches the grave of Marcellus in the Hellgondo Shrine, she's as shocked as everyone to hear about the fate of the hero Marcellus. She remains mostly silent in the Monster Lord's Castle, just reminding Luka that everyone in the Pocket Castle who's not here will follow him, no matter what happens. She remains completely silent when facing either group, swept by the events and the conflicts between the factions.
